Elizabeth (Liz) Pillon is a partner in Stikeman Elliott’s Litigation Group and head of Toronto’s Restructuring and Insolvency Group. Her practise primarily involves Ontario based restructurings, CCAA, receivership and bankruptcy proceedings. She has experience with insolvency proceedings throughout Canada and with the US. She represents debtors, Court Officers (monitors, receivers and proposal trustees), secured creditors, purchasers of assets from insolvent estates, pension administrators, and was appointed by the Court to act as representative and independent counsel in insolvency proceedings. She frequently appears before the Ontario Superior Court (Commercial List), as well as the Ontario Court of Appeal and before the Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Québec Courts in restructuring matters. She is recognized for her expertise in Chambers Global, Chambers Canada, The Best Lawyers in Canada, Benchmark Canada, Legal 500 Canada, Who’s Who Legal: Canada, among others.
