Cynthia has over 20 years’ experience and leads the Ottawa office for Devlin Gailus Westaway (DGW). Cynthia holds an LLM in Comparative Aboriginal Law from University of Ottawa with coursework at American University, Washington DC; LLB from University of Western Ontario; and Diplome francais-juridique from Laval University. She was a law clerk at both the Federal Court of Canada for Justice Pinard and at the Supreme Court of Canada for Justice L’Heureux-Dube. Cynthia’s practice is focused on representation of First Nation, Métis and Inuit clients in consultation, Title and Treaty, governance and business development. She was head of Legal Services at Foreign Affairs Canada and Senior Counsel at Justice Canada, Aboriginal Affairs. She also has experience in private practice employment and human rights law firms.
