On January 5, 2007, BCE Inc. completed an exchange with SkyTerra Communications, Inc. of BCE's equity interests in certain joint venture vehicles that provide satellite-based mobile communication services, for 21,393,355 shares in the capital stock of SkyTerra. The amount is undisclosed.

The BCE team was led by vice-president general counsel Michel Lalande and senior legal counsel Martin Cossette. BCE was represented in the US by Alan Sinsheimer and William G. Farrar of Sullivan & Cromwell LLP, and in Canada by Rene Sorell, Lorne Salzman, Alison Breen and Alasdair Federico of McCarthy Tétrault LLP.
