Red Back Mining Inc. completed a bought deal public offering on February 12, 2009 of 22,000,000 common shares at a price of $7.50 per share for gross proceeds of $165 million. Red Back owns and operates the Chirano Gold Mine in Ghana and the Tasiast Gold Mine in Mauritania.
Red Back was represented by Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP with a team of Peter J. O'Callaghan, Trisha Robertson and Maninder Malli and by US counsel, Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP with a team of Riccardo Leofanti and Ryan Dzierniejko.
The underwriters, co-led by Cormark Securities Inc., BMO Capital Markets, GMP Securities L.P. and Scotia Capital Inc., were represented by Cassels Brock & Blackwell LLP with a team that included John Vettese, Chad Accursi, and Jay King (securities) and Christopher Norton (tax).
