Practice emphasizes complex litigation including competition, IP, commercial, and regulatory disputes. Counsel in 70+ national and international class action matters involving competition, consumer, privacy, and securities claims with issues including cross-border discovery, settlement, and certification. Counsel in numerous competition cases, including 45+ cartel class actions, as well as private actions, contested mergers, deceptive marketing practices, and Competition Bureau investigations; and retained by the Bureau as its counsel in criminal, merger, and marketing practices cases. Also regularly advises social media sites, OTT services, online music sites, broadcasters, and cable networks on copyright matters — counsel in 35+ Copyright Board proceedings and related proceedings in the Federal Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Canada.
