ART IPO

On June 29, 2000, Montreal-based ART Advanced Research Technologies Inc. (ART) closed a $16.65 million IPO. ART’s principal business is the application of laser imaging technology to the medical sector and they are currently in the process of bringing to market a digital imaging device which will use laser technology to detect and diagnose breast cancer. They are also working on the application of this technology to other uses in the diagnostic imaging field.

Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP act for ART with a team led by Rob Yalden, who was assisted by Doug Bryce and Alexis Gosselin. Oslers was retained to run the IPO process and were assisted by the company’s Montreal law firm Brouillette Charpentier Fortin with lawyers Carolyne Lassonde and Nadia Martel on the file. The Underwriters were led by BMO Nesbitt Burns Inc. and included Yorkton Securities Inc. and National Bank Financial Inc. They were represented by Jean Martel, Johanne Duchesne, Rene Branchaud and Martin Joyal of the Montreal firm Lavery, de Billy.
