Cancom Public Offering

McCarthy Tétrault acted for National Bank Financial Corp. and other underwriters in connection with the public offering of common shares by Canadian Satellite Communications Inc. (“Cancom”) that raised $122.6 million. The transaction was completed on December 21, 1999. This offering also marked the first new underwriting by National Bank Financial Corp. since its formation as a result of the 1999 merger of Levesque Beaubien Geoffrion and First Marathon Securities.

The McCarthy Tétrault team was led by Edward P. Kerwin and included Philip C. Moore and Robert Richardson. Cancom was represented by McMillan Binch with the team being comprised of James D. Scarlett and Sonia D. Keshwar.
