Gaz Métropolitain $125 Million Bond Offering

Gaz Métropolitain Inc. completed its bond offering of $125 million Series 1 Medium Term Note (MTN) First Mortgage Bonds under its $250 million MTN program, established on October 23, 2000. The Bonds, bearing interest at a rate of 7.05 per cent, are dated October 26, 2000, and will mature on October 30, 2030. The Bonds are rated A+ and A respectively by Canadian Bond Rating Service and Dominion Bond Rating Service. Proceeds from the issue will be loaned to Gaz Métropolitain Inc. and Company Limited Partnership and will be used to reduce its outstanding indebtedness and to finance capital expenditures as well as for other corporate purposes.

BMO Nesbitt Burns Inc., CIBC World Markets Inc., National Bank Financial Inc., TD Securities Inc. and Casgrain & Company Limited will be acted as agents with respect to the offering.

Gaz Métropolitain Inc. was represented by Pierre A. Raymond and Louis Morisset of Stikeman Elliott’s Montreal office for the establishment of the MTN program and for the first bond offering.
