Goldlist Receives Approval for Forest Hill Re-development

Goldlist Properties Inc. has been successful in securing approval from the Ontario Municipal Board for a proposed re-development at a Forest Hill Site. The re-development includes demolition of 246 units in existing rental buildings, and construction of 263 high-end condominium and town house units, together with a 146 rental apartment building that is intended to replace some of the rental units otherwise removed. The Board accepted that the provision of the rental units constituted a “bonus” offered by the developer as defined under the Planning Act, and permitted a total density of over five times FSI.

Jane Pepino, Q.C., of Aird & Berlis acted on behalf of Goldlist Properties in the application. Opposing Goldlist were Sharon Haniford of the City of Toronto, and Jean Hyndman on behalf of the tenants of the existing rental buildings.
