Hawkesbury & District General Hospital Redevelopment Project Reaches Financial Close

On August 14, 2014, Hôpital Général de Hawkesbury & District General Hospital Inc. (HGH) and Infrastructure Ontario reached financial close with 2423403 Ontario Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Bondfield Construction Company Limited (Bondfield Project Co) to build and finance the Hawkesbury & District General Hospital Redevelopment Project, located in Hawkesbury, Ontario. Bondfield Construction Company Limited will act as the Construction Contractor.

Financing for the project is being provided through a credit facility with The Toronto-Dominion Bank, Caisse centrale Desjardins and National Bank of Canada as lenders and BNY Trust Company of Canada acting as account trustee.

The scope of work consists of a combination of renovations and new construction at the hospital. Newly built features will include a consolidated ambulatory care centre, a new perioperative department, expansion of emergency services and the intensive care unit, redevelopment of the family birthing unit and additional acute care inpatient beds. Major renovations to the existing hospital will accommodate a new mental health in-patient unit, an expanded medical-surgical unit, expanded diagnostic services and a new operating room.

The contract commits Bondfield Project Co to build and finance the project for a guaranteed price of $125.7 million, which will be paid by HGH when substantial completion of the facility, scheduled for summer 2018, occurs.
