Inter-American Completes Global Note Offering

On November 17, 2004, the Inter-American Development Bank (the Bank) completed the sale of C$300 million aggregate principal amount of 4.75 per cent global notes due in 2014. The notes were offered through an underwriting syndicate led by the CIBC (London branch) and including RBC Dominion Securities Inc., Deutsche Bank Securities Inc., National Bank Financial Inc. and Scotia Capital Inc. The notes were offered for sale in Canada, the US and the UK through a prospectus supplement under the Bank’s existing Global Debt Program, listed on the London Stock Exchange and settled directly through CDS and indirectly through DTC and Euroclear/Clearstream.
The Bank was represented in-house by Maria Florencia Attademo-Hirt and Arturo Zaragoza-Ruiz, and for Canadian matters by Peter Noble of Ogilvy Renault LLP in London, England.
The underwriters were represented by Stikeman Elliott LLP with a team that included James Davis and Andrew Grossman in Toronto and Sherry Roth and Nicolas Vanasse in London, England; and in the US by Sullivan & Cromwell LLP with a team that included Robert Craft, Jr., Paul McElroy and Christopher Campbell.
