Legacy Hotels REIT Purchases Sheraton Suites Calgary Eau Claire

On July 12, 2002, Legacy Hotels Real Estate
Investment Trust purchased from Pacrim
Developments Inc. the Sheraton Suites Calgary
Eau Claire, a luxury 323-unit all suite hotel in
downtown Calgary, for $65 million.
Legacy’s legal team was headed by in-house
counsel Thomas Griffiths, with the
representation of McCarthy Tétrault LLP’s
hospitality law group in Toronto and Calgary,
aided by Iain Morton and Greg Stone (corporate),
Kieth Mullback and Greg Liakopoulos (real
estate) and Oliver Borgers and Kathyrn Khamsi
(competition).
Pacrim was represented by Ron Barron, with
assistance from Dave Lennox (corporate) and
Jo’Anne Strekaf and Beth Riley (competition) of
Bennett Jones LLP in Calgary.
