Manulife Financial Completes Offering of US$1.1B of Senior Notes

On September 17, 2010, Manulife Financial Corporation completed a public offering in the United States of US$1.1 billion aggregate principal amount of two series of its senior notes, consisting of US$600 million of 3.40 per cent senior notes due 2015 and US$500 million of senior notes due 2020.

The notes were issued under a prospectus supplement dated September 14, 2010 to Manulife's short form base shelf prospectus dated September 3, 2010, pursuant to Manulife's registration statement on Form F-10 filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on August 30, 2010.

Morgan Stanley & Co. Incorporated, Citigroup Global Markets Inc., Banc of America Securities LLC and Goldman, Sachs & Co. acted as joint book-running managers for the offering.
