Mullen Group Ltd. acquires Gardewine Group LP

Mullen Group Ltd. acquired Manitoba-based Gardewine Group Limited Partnership from TriWest Capital Partners and Gardewine’s senior management team and other owners in an all cash transaction worth $172 million. 

Mullen Group owns a network of independently operated businesses and provides a wide range of specialized transportation and related services to the oil and natural gas industry in western Canada.  It is a supplier of trucking and logistics services in Canada.

Gardewine provides regional less-than-truckload, truckload and specialized truckload services primarily in Manitoba and Ontario and is one of the largest privately owned transportation carriers in Canada. Gardewine will operate as an indirectly, wholly-owned subsidiary of Mullen Group. 

Mullen Group was represented in-house by Joanna Scott and by Burnet, Duckworth & Palmer LLP with a team that included Dave Maxwell and Brianna Guenther (Commercial Transactions), Syd Abougoush and Matt Grant (securities), Annette Lambert (real estate), Heather DiGregorio (tax), Bob Graham (employment) and Alicia Quesnel (competition and Transport Canada).
