On December 22, 2006 OMERS Capital Partners, through its related limited partnership, and Manulife Capital Inc. completed their acquisition of CCNMatthews Ltd., including its US and UK subsidiaries. CCNMatthews is one of Canada's foremost full-service news distribution and communications services companies.

Acquisition financing was provided to the purchaser by a syndicate of senior lenders comprised of Bank of Montreal and The Bank of Nova Scotia with Bank of Montreal acting as administrative agent, and by John Hancock Life Insurance Company (USA) and The Manufacturers Life Insurance Company, as subordinated lenders. The senior lenders were represented by Fraser Milner Casgrain LLP by a team that included Tom Hunter and Lou Morreale.
