OMERS Raises $500M in May 2003

The Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System (OMERS) completed, on May 2, 2003, its second transaction accessing the capital markets by raising $500 million. The debt was issued by a wholly owned subsidiary, OMERS Realty Corporation, by way of 4.69 per cent series B debentures due 2008, guaranteed by OMERS. The debentures were offered on a private placement basis to certain qualified investors. The transaction was co-led by BMO Nesbitt Burns Inc. and RBC Dominion Securities Inc.
