Pyxis Real Equities Inc.

Pyxis Real Estate Equities Inc. (Pyxis), which holds approximately $185 million worth of assets, completed on April 11, 2000 the acquisition of 29 shopping centres and commercial properties located in the Provinces of British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Quebec, Ontario and Nova Scotia. On April 28, 2000, Pyxis subsequently acquired the Ogilvy department store in Montreal from Standard Life Assurance Company.

Stikeman Elliott’s Vancouver office acted for Pyxis with a team led by James C. Davis with help from Dana Porter and Patty Keroglidis (real property), Loreto Grimaldi (corporate) and David Glicksman (tax). Borden Ladner Gervais LLP in Vancouver acted for a major Canadian pension fund from which Pyxis acquired a number of its assets. David Mydske spearheaded this effort and was assisted by Mary Jo Campbell and Mark Lewis. On the purchase of the Ogilvy store, Pyxis was represented by Josée Gravel, Victor Salvaggio and Gayle Noble of Stikeman Elliott in Montreal. Standard Life Assurance Company was represented by Maurice Forget and Claudette Allard of Fasken Martineau DuMoulin LLP in Montreal.
