Robert Winogron and Jeremy Bouchard have joined the Ottawa office of Gowling Lafleur Henderson LLP

In Ottawa, two experts in Aboriginal law joined Gowling Lafleur Henderson LLP. The addition of former Department of Justice Canada lawyers Robert Winogron and Jeremy Bouchard, boosts the firm-wide group to 47. Their practice focuses on assisting First Nations with specific claims preparation, negotiation and litigation. Winogron and Bouchard also advise on a wide range of First Nation economic development initiatives. Winogron, who joined as a partner, led a negotiation team at Justice Canada and was recognized for his success as Canada’s legal representative on the Assembly of First Nations/Canada Joint Task Force, which aims to strengthen the Crown-First Nation relationship at the national level. Bouchard, who joined as an associate, is an experienced litigator and claims negotiator. He has acted as lead counsel on negotiations throughout Canada, including the Toronto Purchase Specific Claim. Bouchard is a member of the Six Nations of the Grand River First Nation.
