SNF Purchases Raisio Polymer Plant

Toronto-based SNF Canada Limited, the subsidiary of SNF SA in St. Étienne, France, purchased, on May 31, 2002, a polymer production plant owned by Trois-Rivières, Quebec-based Raisio Chemicals Canada Inc. At the same time, Raisio sold to SNF its 50 per cent interest in a joint venture, Emerillon Polymers Inc., which had been created by the two groups for the production of acrymalides. The parties also announced an agreement for the supply by SNF to Raisio of certain functional polymers to be produced at the plant. The value of the deal is undisclosed.
