TransCanada Issues $350M of Preferred Shares

On March 11, 2010, TransCanada Corporation completed an offering of 14,000,000 cumulative redeemable rate reset first preferred shares pursuant to a prospectus supplement dated March 4, 2010, to a shelf prospectus dated September 21, 2009, for gross proceeds to TransCanada of approximately $350 million. The offering was underwritten by a syndicate led by Scotia Capital Inc. and RBC Dominion Securities Inc. and including BMO Nesbitt Burns Inc., TD Securities Inc., CIBC World Markets Inc., National Bank Financial Inc., HSBC Securities (Canada) Inc. and UBS Securities Canada Inc.
