Wellspring Capital Acquires Protectron from Quebecor Media

On May 15, 2001, Groupe Videotron Ltée sold Protectron Inc., a leading alarm and security company in Québec, to a group composed of Wellspring Capital Management LLC from New York and a management team from Protectron Inc. led by Daniel Demers, for a purchase price of $61.5 million. Heller Financial Canada, Ltd. and BNP Paribas (Canada) provided financing for the transaction.
