WM Quebec Buys RCI Environnement Assets

WM Quebec Inc., an affiliate of Waste Management, Inc., the leading provider of comprehensive waste management services in North America, purchased substantially all of the outstanding assets of RCI Environnement Inc., Gestion Environmentale Nord-Sud Inc. and Location P.S.M. Inc. for an undisclosed amount to form Quebec's largest waste management firm. RCI Environnement Inc. is the leading integrated waste management group in the Province of Quebec.

WM Quebec Inc. and Waste Management, Inc. were represented in-house by Donald Wright, Waste Management Cana-da's vice president and general counsel, and by external counsel, Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg LLP, with a team that included Hillel Rosen, Annie Gauthier and Florence Simard (M&A); Adam Fanaki and Jim Dinning (competition); and Joseph Jarjour (real estate), Michel Pelletier (environment) and David Stolow (litigation).

RCI Environnement Inc., Gestion Environmentale Nord-Sud Inc. and Location P.S.M. Inc. were represented in-house by Geneviève Émond; and by BCF LLP, as external counsel, with a team that included Nathalie Gagnon, André Morrissette and Geneviève Martin (M&A); and Charles Gagnon (tax) and Keyvan Nassiry (banking).
