Dentons Canada LLP

Described as a “powerhouse” with an “encyclopedic knowledge of — and accompanying passion for — securities law,” Ora Wexler has established herself as a go-to expert in Canadian securities law matters. Her stellar reputation has led to numerous high profile domestic and cross-border mandates, leveraging Dentons’ unique platform.

Ora serves as the head of Dentons’ Toronto securities group and leads the Toronto corporate team — the largest practice group at the Firm nationally. She was instrumental in driving the launch of Dentons’ “Going Public in Canada Resource Center,” which is a one-stop shop for matters to consider when taking a company public. A strong advocate for an inclusive culture, Ora routinely presents on inclusion and diversity (I&D) topics, and sits on the Dentons Toronto Partner Compensation Committee and I&D Committee. In the last year alone, on top of routine informal mentoring, she served five formal mentorship roles: articling principal, summer student mentor, mentor to two associates and integration partner to a lateral partner hire.

A member of the Ontario Securities Commission Securities Advisory Committee, Ora provides advice to the Commission on legislative and policy initiatives, and capital markets trends. She is actively involved in volunteer work, especially with her alma mater, Brandeis University, where she sits on the Alumni Board and is the Co-President of the Toronto Alumni Club. She graduated cum laude from Brandeis with a BA in Economics and was a varsity athlete, garnering recognition as an Intercollegiate Tennis Association Scholar Athlete and was named to the University Athletic Association All-Academic Recognition List. Ora pursued her law degree at Queen’s University, where she was a Dean’s Honour List student.
