Coeur d'Alene Acquires Bolnisi and Palmarejo for US$1.1 Billion

On December 21, 2007, Coeur d'Alene Mines Corporation (“Coeur”) completed its acquisition, through a wholly owned subsidiary, of all the outstanding shares of Bolnisi Gold NL (“Bolnisi”) and, indirectly, all of the outstanding shares of Palmarejo Silver and Gold Corporation (“Palmarejo”) in a transaction valued at US$1.1 billion. Under the terms of the transaction, shareholders of Bolnisi and Palmarejo received as consideration common stock of Coeur (or CHESS depositary interests representing Coeur stock) and a cash amount.
