Brian Reeve is a partner whose practice focuses on the regulation and corporate governance of insurance companies. His clients include property and casualty insurers, life insurers, reinsurers and insurance brokers. Brian’s practice includes mergers & acquisitions, licensing of foreign insurers in Canada, distribution issues and product development. He has also advised on the formation of captive insurance companies, as well as various types of self-insured and risk retention structures. Brian has been a special advisor to both the Ontario and Federal Ministries of Finance on insurance matters. He serves on the boards of several Canadian insurance companies and is also the Chief Agent in Canada for a number of foreign insurers. Brian is a frequent speaker and writer on various matters relating to insurance and corporate law. He is also recognized as a leading lawyer by Chambers Canada, Who’s Who Legal, The Best Lawyers in Canada, and The Legal Media Group Guide to the World’s Leading Insurance and Reinsurance Lawyers. Brian was called to the Ontario Bar in 1982.
