Laurie LaPalme practises corporate and commercial law, with an emphasis on insurance matters, including insurance transactions, commercial arrangements, and regulatory compliance, involving both public and private insurance companies and intermediaries. Laurie’s clients include both domestic and foreign life and general insurance companies, insurance agents, brokers and MGAs, reinsurance companies, and other financial services clients. Laurie’s corporate and insurance regulatory practice involves mergers & acquisitions, portfolio transfers, formation of insurers and intermediaries, creation of online insurance platforms, federal and provincial licensing, corporate reorganizations, corporate governance, outsourcing arrangements, delegated authority agreements, commercial agreements, and working with both federal and provincial regulators on compliance matters and market conduct investigations. Laurie is a member of the Ontario, Canadian, and American Bar Associations. She is called to the Bar in Ontario (2000) and New York (2001).
