Barbara Miller’s broad practice is focused on communications, mergers & acquisitions, financing transactions, corporate governance, public private partnerships and infrastructure projects and general corporate/commercial matters. Barbara represents clients on international, cross border and domestic mergers and acquisitions, as well as in connection with restructuring and infrastructure transactions. Previously acting as Co-Chair of the firm’s Communications Practice Group, Barbara has advised clients on leading investments, acquisitions, disposition and financings of telecommunications and broadcasting entities in Canada. Barbara also provides general regulatory advice to industry members and advises US cable networks in their dealings with Canadian regulatory authorities. With considerable expertise on Health Canada’s medical marijuana and proposed new cannabis regimes, Barbara actively advises applicants for licences under the Access to Cannabis for Medical Purposes Regulations, the Narcotic Control Regulations and the proposed new Cannabis Act, as well as a broad range of others engaged in the industry, including lenders, investors, insurers and service providers.
