Al Esterbauer is senior counsel in the Koskie Minsky Civil Litigation Group. In addition to his litigation counsel practice, he also is sought out as a mediator and arbitrator in a diverse spectrum of complex actions. He has more than 40 years litigation experience in a broad range of actions, involving professional liability, real property, class actions, shareholder disputes and commercial matters. Al is recognized by Lexpert as a leading Ontario practitioner in the Professional Liability practice area. His practice has concentrated in the defence of claims against lawyers and many other professionals, including real estate agents and brokers, actuaries, appraisers and insurance brokers. Al regularly appears before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Divisional Court and the Court of Appeal for Ontario. With extensive trial and appellate experience, he has argued many cases that have significantly impacted the development of the law, particularly in respect of real estate and professional liability matters. Among his affiliations, Al is a member of the Toronto Commercial Arbitration Society. He has lectured frequently for the Law Society of Ontario, the Ontario Bar Association, The Advocates' Society and the Canadian Independent Adjusters' Association.
