Practises product liability, complex-commercial, fraud, oppression, securities, cannabis, employment mischaracterization and anti-trust/competition litigation with an emphasis on class actions, cross-border disputes and internal investigations. Known for helping clients prevent and address crises. Has appeared before courts and tribunals at all levels of trial and appeal. Has acted on some of Canada’s most significant takeover litigations, and has set precedents in class action litigation regarding third-party financing and economic loss. Formerly an associate at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP in New York, where he worked on major complex litigations, including the successful commercial arbitration of the world’s largest purchase price dispute. Has written for major publications including The Wall Street Journal and The Jerusalem Post. Admitted to the New York Bar in 1998 and the Ontario Bar in 2003, he graduated from law faculties of the Universities of Oxford and Chicago.
