Sylvain Vauclair has been practising in the field of insolvency law for over 35 years and has throughout that period represented the full spectrum of stakeholders, from debtors' and creditors' committees to bondholders, CCAA monitors, trustees in bankruptcy, and lenders. His work is now particularly focused on restructuring matters. He is listed in the insolvency section of the International Who's Who Legal, Best Lawyers in Canada, The 2008 Lexpert®/American Lawyer Guide to the Leading 500 Lawyers in Canada, Chambers Global (2014), Chambers Canada, Legal 500 (2019), The Canadian Legal Lexpert® Directory, and the Lexpert® 2009 Guide to the Leading US/Canada Cross-Border Litigation Lawyers in Canada for Insolvency. He is a member of the Insolvency Institute of Canada and the American Bankruptcy Institute, as well as its subcommittee on international insolvencies, and is a regular lecturer on insolvency issues. Current engagements include the representation of the Monitor in the CCAA cross-border proceedings of Montréal, Maine, and Atlantic Railway.
