Munaf Mohamed is a partner & national co-Chair of the firm's fraud law practice and maintains a national litigation practice. He has extensive experience in civil fraud and international asset recovery claims, energy related disputes and bank related litigation. Munaf has litigated some of the largest civil fraud claims in Canada and appears as counsel regularly across the country, having overseen numerous international recovery efforts on behalf of clients. In the energy arena, he has litigated a wide variety of complex corporate and commercial matters including pipeline failures, issues relating to split title of mineral rights, farm-out agreements, surface rights and land related disputes. He is rated in Chambers and Benchmark Litigation recently named Munaf one of the top 50 trial lawyers in Canada. Munaf has been named as a leading practitioner, globally, in the business crime practice area by Who's Who Legal since 2009 as well as in the international Who's Who of Asset Recovery Lawyers since 2012. With over 60 reported cases, Munaf has extensive trial and appellate experience, having appeared as lead counsel in the courts in British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario, Québec as well as in the federal courts, with multiple appearances at the Supreme Court of Canada.
