Bob has served as litigation counsel in a wide variety of insurance, corporate commercial and general litigation for over forty years. He has also represented and counseled First Nations for over three decades. He is currently the Principal Negotiator and Senior Legal Counsel for the Algonquins of Ontario in ongoing treaty negotiations with Canada and Ontario involving the Ottawa Valley including the Nation’s capital. He has acted as legal counsel to Bigstone Cree Nation in their TLE and Specific Claim culminating in one of the largest negotiated settlements of its kind in Alberta, and one of the most complicated and richest First Nation Land Claim settlements in Canadian history. He has acted as legal counsel and negotiator for Sturgeon Lake First Nation, Tallcree Tribal Government and Alexander First Nation in Treaty Land Entitlement (“TLE”) Claims, as well as a number of Specific Claims in Alberta. He has acted as legal counsel for Wahta Mohawks of Ontario in a major land claim. Bob is a Member of The Advocates’ Society; Defense Research Institute; Ontario Bar Association. LLB, University of Toronto Law School. Called to the Bars of Ontario (1974) and Alberta (1986). He has been voted by his peers as one of the best Aboriginal Law lawyers in Canada for several years.
