He has advised many of the firm’s largest clients on their strategic acquisitions, joint ventures, infrastructure projects, and public offerings. He has also advised a number of independent committees regarding going-private transactions. John is President and a former member of the Board of Directors of the Montreal General Hospital Corporation, a member of the Board of Directors of the Heritage Club and the Adaptive Sports Foundation, a past member of the Quebec chapter of the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD), a past member of BLG’s Partnership Board and its National Corporate Commercial Practice Group Leader, and past president of The Canadian Club of Montreal. CDPQ Infra Inc., a subsidiary of Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec, announced on April 12, 2018, that construction of the Réseau express métropolitain (REM) project, an automated light-rail transportation system in the greater Montréal area, has officially started. The project comprises 67 kilometres of railway and 26 stations and, once complete, will be one of the largest automated transportation system in the world.
