Partner in the firm’s Financial Services Group in Calgary. Practice focuses on corporate finance and, in particular, banking, syndicated corporate lending, project finance, acquisition finance, high-yield debt financings and structured finance. Recent transactions have included major acquisition financings (including in the private-equity space), private placements and cross-border financings and financings of oil sands projects, energy services companies, conventional oil & gas reserves, pipelines and power-generating assets. Acted as lead counsel for Schulberger, Crescent Point, Enbridge, Petrobank, Lightstream, Petrominerales, Bankers Petroleum and TransAlta and has acted as lead counsel for the lenders to CNOOC, Nexen, PotashCorp, Calfrac, Baytex, Trinidad Drilling, Enerflex, Nabors Canada, Canadian Energy Services and others; in each case in connection with their respective senior syndicated credit facilities. Admitted to the Alberta Bar in 1999.
