Casey Chisick is certified by the Law Society of Ontario as a Specialist in Intellectual Property Law (Copyright). His practice includes entertainment & media, intellectual property, communications, and brand management, with particular expertise in the collective administration of copyright. Casey acts as transactional and litigation counsel to clients in music, film, TV, broadcasting, higher education, theatre, publishing, fashion, visual arts, advertising, and new media, as well as other businesses with IP needs. He has appeared as counsel in five appeals to the Supreme Court of Canada, as well as in proceedings at various levels of court, the Competition Tribunal, and the Copyright Board of Canada. Casey is recognized as a leading lawyer by Chambers Global, Best Lawyers, Legal 500, Who’s Who Legal, Managing IP, and Expert Guides. He was named one of "Lexpert Rising Stars: Leading Lawyers Under 40" in 2011. Casey was the gold medalist in law at the University of Manitoba, earned an LLM as a Fulbright Scholar at Harvard Law School, and served as law clerk to The Hon. Mr. Justice Iacobucci of the Supreme Court of Canada. He serves on the executive of the Copyright Society of the USA, committees of the ABA (committee chair), INTA, and IPIC, and the advisory board of IP Osgoode.
