Adam advises on all aspects of Canadian competition and foreign investment review law, including merger transactions, criminal and cartel investigations, abuse of dominance and misleading advertising cases. He has acted as counsel for private parties and the Commissioner of Competition in numerous proceedings before the Competition Tribunal and in class actions and other complex, litigated proceedings at all levels of court in Canada. Adam was the Senior Deputy Commissioner of Competition and head of the Mergers Branch at the Canadian Competition Bureau. He is also former Special Counsel to Canada’s Commissioner of Competition where he held primary responsibility for the design and implementation of major reforms to the Competition Act. He is the co-chair of the C.D. Howe Institute Competition Policy Council that is comprised of top-ranked academics and practitioners active in competition policy.
