Clients consult her for her expertise on remediation and redevelopment of contaminated lands. She works with sponsors, proponents and lenders in complex energy projects, advising on environmental risk and permitting requirements. Alex has expertise in Indigenous interests and advised on the creation of an environmental protection regime under Canada’s First Nations Land Management Act. She also represents clients in regulatory compliance investigations and prosecutions, provides environmental expertise in litigation and often counsels on environmental issues related to insolvencies, such as directors’ and officers’ liability.
