David Wakely was a founding member of the firm and has been practising exclusively in the area of labour and employment law since his call to the Bar in 1975. He is certified by the Law Society of Ontario as a Specialist in Civil Litigation and Labour Law. David advises and represents managment in all areas of labour and employment with the primary focus being collective bargaining and litigation of employment-related matters in the courts and before tribunals. David was a member of Council of the OBA (1991 to 1998). He is a past executive member of the Labour Law Section and was chair of the section from 1988 to 1991. He is also past president of the University of Western Ontario Law Association. Currently, he is a member of the Metropolitan Toronto Board of Trade Labour Relations Committee, the Advocates Society and the Metropolitan Toronto Lawyers Association. He is alsodirector of several Canadian companies and has sat as a Deputy Judge of the Provincial Court, Civil Division. David has written many articles and papers on labour and employment law, and he frequently lectures on these topics. He was a part-time instructor in labour relations and employment law, graduate program, Osgoode Hall Law School.
