Represents trade unions, employees, retirees and pension funds in both the public and private sectors in labour relations and pension and benefits matters. Has particular expertise in bargaining new benefits arrangements, and assisting unions when employers are insolvent. Appears in court, and before FSCO and its Tribunal, the Ontario Labour Relations Board, and public and private arbitration panels. Active member and past president of the Canadian Association of Labour Lawyers. Member of the Canadian Bar Association National Pension Executive, the FCSO Legal Advisory Committee and the Actuarial Standards Oversight Council. Speaks regularly at continuing legal education programs, conferences, and client seminars. Lectures on pension law at universities, in labour education programs, and for the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans. Has authored numerous articles on pensions and benefits law in legal and benefits publications. Practised pension and benefits law for many years at another Toronto law firm prior to joining Goldblatt Partners.
