Expertise includes official plan, zoning and subdivision approvals where there are disparate public, private and institutional stakeholders. Instrumental in obtaining approvals for a number of large, multi-phase redevelopments in Toronto. Acted on the site plan approval for the National Tennis Centre and represents the Hospital for Sick Children in its expansion and renovation. Successfully represented the Town of Oakville in a landmark OMB case involving over 7,000 acres of urban land. Involved in a number of conversions of industrial lands to residential uses, including the associated soil and ground water issues throughout Ontario including the Toronto Distillery District, Shipyards Development in Collingwood, and lands on Toronto’s waterfront. Provides environmental advice on corporate transactions. Has worked on the development and financing of a number of green energy projects. Named the 2018 Toronto “Municipal Lawyer of the Year” by Best Lawyers in Canada.
