Adam Chamberlain is a partner in Gowling WLG’s Toronto office. Called to the Bars of Nunavut, NWT, Yukon and Ontario. Certified by the LSO as a Specialist in Environmental Law and Indigenous Legal Issues. Has a broad practice that includes issues ranging from Indigenous relationship building to permitting, approvals and compliance. Acts as environmental assessment (EA) counsel on an array of infrastructure projects including energy, mining, waste and water projects and is active with EAs in a variety of Canadian jurisdictions. Very active in Arctic project development and regulatory matters. Has extensive experience with Aboriginal consultation, impact and benefit agreement negotiation and joint venture development, often as proponents counsel. Has long involvement in climate change matters and has advised clients on offset and related agreements, international initiatives and strategic corporate climate change planning. Has a unique, pragmatic approach that results in strategic solutions for various types of projects. Adam supports and represents industry organizations in various sectors. Member of the Board of Directors, for NWT and Nunavut Chamber of Mines, the Gordon Foundation and Georgian Bay Forever. He is a Fellow of the Royal Canadian Geographical Society.
