Joëlle Boisvert is head of international development at Gowling WLG (Canada) LLP and a member of the International Board of Gowling WLG International Limited since 2018. She served as the managing partner of Gowling WLG’s Montréal office from 2014 to 2017, and as head of international development, continues to play an active role at the firm’s Canadian national level. As an experienced commercial litigator, Joëlle counsels large national and international companies with regards to a variety of complex dispute matters. During her 30-year career, she has developed extensive experience in arbitration, both nationally and internationally, as well as in mediation proceedings, in addition to class actions and litigation pertaining to commercial, corporate and real estate law, including in the areas of franchising, as well as manufacturing and distribution. Her practice has brought her to plead before Federal and Provincial Courts of law, as well as administrative tribunals. As the first woman ever to manage the Montréal office, Joëlle is particularly committed to promoting the advancement and leadership of women in all areas of professional and commercial activity. Joëlle is actively involved in the activities of the Québec Bar, acting namely as an arbitrator for the Québec Bar.
