Ross is a leader of Gowling WLG’s Commercial Litigation Group. He is recognized by his peers as one of the top litigators in Canada. He has also been recognized by Lexpert® and Best Lawyers for outstanding work in the area of civil litigation, with emphasis on estate litigation and commercial and real estate-related litigation, including construction liens. He has also worked in the areas of insurance law, employment law (wrongful dismissals) and banking, including collections, priorities and mortgage enforcement. He has extensive experience as a trial and appellate lawyer and as a strategic problem-solver in complex disputes, working closely with clients and counsel. Ross appears as counsel before all levels of courts in Canada, as well as before numerous administrative tribunals. Ross became a Bencher of The Law Society of Upper Canada in June 2012, chairs both the Compliance Based Entity Regulation Task Force and the Real Estate Liaison Group and serves on the Real Estate Issues Working Group, Equity and Indigenous Affairs Committee and the Board of Directors of LibraryCo. In 2016 he was appointed by Convocation as the Ontario Councillor to the Federation of Law Societies of Canada, becoming second vice-president in 2017. Year called to the Bar: 1979.
