Has practised exclusively in intellectual property law since 1998, primarily patent and industrial design prosecution and drafting, mainly for computer-related inventions, applied physics, medical devices, natural resource extraction and mechanical inventions. Has in-depth experience with every stage of the patent drafting procurement and portfolio development process, both domestically and internationally, with particular expertise relating to international applications under the Patent Cooperation Treaty. Experienced with the Global Patent Prosecution Highway and other procedures for expedited examination. Experienced in providing infringement and validity opinions, freedom to operate opinions and due diligence reviews of IP portfolios. Also has experience representing clients in oral hearings before Canada's Patent Appeal Board, and consulting in IP litigation matters.
