Paul is a partner practising environmental law at McCarthy Tétrault LLP, advising on environmental/natural resources issues, including major project permitting/approvals, environmental assessments, financing, M&A, lender liability, directors’ & officers’ liability, contaminated sites, environmental litigation (civil, administrative/criminal), due diligence reviews, training and crisis management. Advises on energy issues, including LNG projects, power agreements, project siting, climate change & renewable energy development. Provided expert evidence in American proceedings on environmental laws in Canada. Provided evidence before Canadian Parliament Environment Committee. Trained mediator/co-founder of the Canadian Centre for Environmental Arbitration & Mediation. Former federal prosecutor with Department of Justice (Canada).
