Partner in the firm’s Tax Group in Toronto. Her practice includes all aspects of commodity taxes, from providing advice on commercial transactions to representing clients in disputes. Advises clients on the commodity tax implications of new business ventures, domestic and cross-border transactions and corporate reorganizations. Has assisted clients with audits and verifications, and by making representations to tax authorities. She has litigated commodity tax issues before the Tax Court of Canada, Federal Court, Federal Court of Appeal, Canadian International Trade Tribunal and the Ontario Superior Court of Justice. Frequently addresses professional and business conferences and has written for various tax publications including Tax Litigation, Tax Notes International, the CTF Conference Report, and GST and Commodity Tax News and is a member of the editorial board of the Sales Tax, Customs & Trade Journal. Wendy is a member of the Canadian Tax Foundation and the Chair, CRA Liaison Committee of the National Commodity Tax, Customs and Trade Section of the Canadian Bar Association. She was called to the Ontario Bar in 2001.
