A wealth of expertise across the full spectrum of environmental legal matters, including evaluating and managing environmental legal risk in the context of complex corporate transactions and advising on environmental assessment, permitting and liability in large project development. Renewable energy, manufacturing, chemical, mining, infrastructure and brownfield redevelopment projects are significant areas of focus for Joanna. She also regularly represents and advises clients on compliance with emerging environmental legislation, defence of environmental prosecutions and government orders, remediation of contaminated sites and product stewardship. Joanna also practises in the area of climate change, ESG, and energy law. She provides strategic advice to clients on greenhouse gas reporting compliance, obligations arising under federal and provincial greenhouse gas legislation, carbon offset credits, strategies and risks in meeting net-zero commitments and broader ESG due diligence matters.
