Stefanie is a partner in our Tax Group in Toronto and the tax representative on McCarthy Tetrault LLP’s National Opinions Committee. She maintains an income tax planning practice, with a focus on the tax-related aspects of domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions (public and private), corporate reorganizations, real estate transactions and financings. She also frequently acts on tax structuring matters for pension plans, and advises on tax aspects of business operations. Stefanie has appeared as a lecturer at numerous conferences, seminars and courses (including the Tax Executives Institute North American Conference, the Pension Investment Association of Canada (PIAC) Tax Forum, Canadian and Ontario Bar Association conferences, and Canadian Tax Foundation national and provincial conferences), and has written and commented widely on income tax matters generally. She is a guest lecturer at Osgoode Hall Law School and a sessional instructor at the University of Windsor Law School. Member and former governor of the Canadian Tax Foundation, and member of each of the International Fiscal Association, Canadian Bar Association and Ontario Bar Association.

ORBCOMM Inc., a global provider of Machine-to-Machine (M2M) solutions, completed the acquisition of SkyWave Mobile Communications Inc., the largest M2M service provider on the Inmarsat global L-band satellite network for approximately US$130 million. SkyWave, an Ottawa-based company, will add more than 250,000 subscribers, 400 channel partners, and annualized revenues of over $60 million to ORBCOMM.
