Teresa Meadows JD, BEd, is the Founder of Meadows Law, an Edmonton-based law firm focusing on environmental law, Aboriginal law and administrative law. Her legal career spans more than 25 years in private practice and as in-house counsel. She has worked on files that have significantly impacted the lives of individuals and Indigenous Communities across Canada. Teresa is a trusted advisor to a variety of environmental and public authorities in Alberta and Nunavut, and private clients in sectors such as mining, transportation, forestry, waste management, water management, petrochemicals and oilsands. With an active practice in Canada’s arctic, she is proud to bring a unique northern perspective to her work. Teresa has successfully argued cases before all levels of court in Canada, including the SCC. She is a sought after teacher, speaker and contributor to publications on a variety of topics, including Indigenous rights under modern land claims, cooperative resource management, climate change regulation, environmental assessment and approvals, and environmental liability.
