Howard Black's practice includes estate litigation, mediation, and arbitration of estate disputes, estate planning and administration, drafting and administering wills and trusts, and advising on capacity issues. He has served as an adjunct professor of estates and estate litigation at Osgoode Hall Law School since 1992 and has received several teaching awards. He is the author of Wills and Estates: Cases, Text, and Materials (4th ed.) published by Emond Publishing. He writes and speaks extensively on various areas of estates law and estate mediation and arbitration. He is a past chairman of the executive of the Ontario Bar Association’s trusts and estates section. He received his LLM degree in alternative dispute resolution from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2001. He is named as one of Canada’s Most Frequently Recommended Estates lawyers by The Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory and is listed in The Best Lawyers in Canada. He was admitted to the Ontario bar in 1985.
